Floating Lantern Ceremony @ Ala Moana Beach Park

I’ve always wanted to photograph the Floating Lantern Ceremony! Finally this year, with a little help from the Oahu Photography Meetup Group I packed my camera & gear & drove out to be part of the estimated 40,000 people at Ala Moana Beach Park. The many emotions that filled the air, anticipation, excitement, sadness, happiness, respect and above all the Spirit of ALOHA for all the friends & families who have lost loved ones! For myself just being there was an amazing & emotional feeling to absorb & try to capture all the emotions through my lens. There was an estimated 3000 floating lanterns released.
